Summarizing this article, it is talking about Messianic Judaism’s debate on if a Gentile converting to Christianism has to undergo the painful procedure of circumcision and if a Jew converting to Christianity has to abandon his Jewish lifestyle. Nevertheless, almost at the end it says that these Messianic Jews have considered allies by evangelical Christians and that this Jews do believe in Christ’s deity and his Messianic person, meaning they do believe and await His return. Mi opinion is that if Jews practice things that contradict Scriptures they should, and if they do truly convert the Holy Spirit will guide them as they read God’s Word that what they’re doing isn’t what God desires from us.
I wrote “Clash of Titans” as a title because this news is about two megachurch pastors, John MacArthur (Grace Community Church) and Mark Driscoll (Mars Hill Church), who are very well known pastors among the Christian community. The incident held was that Driscoll was outraged by the supposed confiscation of his books at John MacArthur’s conference called “Strange Fire”. Another source said that they were not actually confiscated, they were just not allowed to be handed out freely before being correctly approved. The main point of this mess is that Driscoll is apparently promoting charimatic movement theology, which is highly criticized by MacArthur as “a farce and a scam.” This article called my attention because I’ve known already about both of them and I think this could catch the attention of any listener of these pastors, which includes me.
This article I found in our local newspaper’s webpage talks about a baby boy that was delivered 3 months ahead because of medical issues his mom had. Sadly, the doctors announced to the couple that their baby had not resisted the birth trauma and he had died. Hours later, when autopsy was about to be performed, the baby suddenly moved and was transferred to ICU; he was alive! I don’t know if this has something to do, but it called my attention first because of its title that said he was going to be named “Lazarus”, and second, after I read it I rejoiced to see how God still works miracles nowadays! Sometimes we tend to think God doesn’t do miracles in our current corrupt humanity, but the truth is HE DOES! Even if it’s a “little thing” God uses little things to do great things out them.
While searching on the web for any news to blog about, I found this article about current Christian martyrdom and it called much of my attention. As I started to read it I realized it’s the first article I read about martyrdom being held nowadays. Indeed, I also realized how little and how irrelevant we turn this news to be; in fact, the article is called “Silence about the Christian persecution”. We tend to be SO indifferent about persecution when it’s really an important issue!!! So many Christian fellows are dying each day because of and for Christ. It makes me want to place myself in their position and see that I’m doing NOTHING. WE ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING! We are called to be in constant, fervent prayer for them; it’s the least we can do. I am really motivated about adding this martyrs to my prayers list, because if its true I can’t help them by any other means, God hears our prayers and He is powerful to care for them. 🙂
Pope Francisco said when being interviewed about his opinion on gay marriage, abortion, and gay rights that “It is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time” because “The dogmatic and moral teachings of the church are not all equivalent. The church’s pastoral ministry cannot be obsessed with the transmission of a disjointed multitude of doctrines to be imposed insistently.” I think he is really not reading and studying the Bible, if that’s what he’s supposed to do, because if he did he would know that those issue ARE important. Why? Beause they are extremely affecting our society and its something affecting Christians and non-Christians as well. It does matter because we should strive to eliminate those type of behaviors and decisions; they are not biblical, and God does not approve it. Women are women, men are men, and NOBODY has the right to take away a life. Our job is to preach Christ for them to be unveiled to see things as they are and assume responsabilities (in case of abortion).
My opinion about Pope Francisco’s declarations is that he said absurd and illogical things. I guess what shocks me the most is that he is supposed to be somewhat, lets say, “related” to the Bible; maybe not studied because if that was the case he wouldn’t be a pope because he would know the truth, but at least to have read Scripture and know that God NEVER said throughout all Scripture that He would save unbelievers if they “follow their consciences”. I guess I had false hopes after all. God clearly states that judgment will come to those who don’t believe in John 3:18 “There is no judgment against anyone who BELIEVES in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.” ;God did not say any other condition like “or whoever follows his/her conscience”. Another thing is that we can’t trust our own conscience because of our overflowing sinful depravity; we are corrupted sinners as said in Titus 1:15 “To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who ARE corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.” God created our conscience to help us difference good from bad innately, and He gaves us His Holy Spririt to difference both in God’s context, John 16: 13-14 “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me [God].” You may ask yourself, “Isn’t it that God is a merciful and loving God?” Well, He is indeed, but at the same time He is a JUST and SOVEREIGN God, as said in Romans 3:26b “God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” and in Psalms 9:8 “He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness.” Finally, included in this justice of His, partiality doesn’t come with it, and we have the example of Lot’s wife in Genesis 12:26, when the Lord instructed them through angels to leave the city and to NOT look back; Lot’s wife looked back in disobedience and she immediately became a pillar of salt. He makes NO exceptions, so if somebody comes to God
In Bogota, Colombia, the police found a “pregnant” woman about to take off to Canada, from where she proceded, carrying 4 cocaine pounds under her well attached latex belly. She insisted agresively that she had 7 months of pregnancy, but the police wasn’t easily deceived because one of them felt her bellay was way too cold and hard. This news called my attention because of the corrupted and addicted morals the world is experiencing. This kind of news aren’t new to anybody, but I think we shouldn’t lose this sensibility towards the world we live in. Many millions and billions of people are falling each day in this drug trafficking again and again, and it makes me wonder and think they must love what they traffic in order to do it or use it; however, it makes me wonder how much am I loving God and them by praying about this social issues that grow each day.
